Kayla Suzanne Holdgreve is a photographer and visual artist from Lima, Ohio. She received a BFA in Photography from Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio. She is currently an MFA candidate in the Photography + Integrated Media program at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. With the use of photography, family archives and text, Holdgreve explore ideas of home, autobiography and memory. She often manipulate her negatives and prints, including the use of dirt from specific familial locations. When using expired films, papers and non-archival materials, she likes to think about how preservation as well as the deteriorating image can reflect our experience with memory.
